Deadline for Issue 1:
It Must be Done — The Thinking of Creative Practice

Thursday 6th March · 23.59hrs

Please submit your proposal to JCPR@uclan.ac.uk
as a Microsoft Word or PDF document attached to the email.


Your proposal should include:

  • Full name and title

  • Email address

  • University affiliation (if relevant)

  • Orchid ID number (if relevant)

  • A biography of no more than 100 words

  • Preferred submission format (1 - 7)

  • A 250–300-word abstract explaining and contextualising the proposed submission.

  • Practice submissions should include relevant documentation (up to three pages).

  • All images should be of publishable quality (min 300dpi).
    These can be attached to the email, or sent via We Transfer or similar platforms.


Submission formats:

1. Original artworks and literature including animation, creative writing, drawing, film painting, sculpture, performance, photography, poetry, and script writing. Submissions can be up to eight pages.

2. Research articles (4000-6000 words).

3. Research reports including exhibitions, site-specific projects, and reflections on studio practice (2000-4000 words including documentation of practices discussed).

4. Interviews and ‘in-conversations’ between practitioners and/or theorists (2000-4000 words).

5. Visual essays (1000-2000 words with focus on visual communication/evidence).

6. Readings, provocations, manifestos, and theses (1000-3000 words)

7. Reviews of new events, exhibitions, and publications (1000-1500 words).
